SevenClick 1st anniversary

One year of SevenClick!!

If you are a regular follower of SevenClick’s Blog, you might know that today is our company’s birthday. A whole year has already passed, and it’s time to look back.

We started working hard, literally speaking since the first day we had to assemble our desks. During the first weeks, the office looked like a warzone. Cables hanging down the ceiling, holes in the technical floor… a complete mess, in summary. But, you have to take things the way they come, and SevenClick started work activities this way. Fortunately, little by little our office (should I say our second house?) started to look like a workplace.

Our first big moment was the inauguration Party, which took place last September. There were plenty of friends celebrating such important moment with us. I’d like to thank them for coming, for their support and best wishes. The party was a big success.

At that moment, we had managed to start the company, to define our work policies, to create a nice work environment, and the most important thing: to create a team, not just a group of people.
From that moment, engines start working, with plenty of proposals presented and an interesting amount of work to do. But, this is the funny part of the job, isn’t it? Right now, after a year of work, we have a solid team with great skills being applied to what we like most: Mobility and Mobile software development. And graphic design, of course.

Finally, I’d like to thank all SevenClick members for their work, enthusiasm, and friendliness. SevenClick, you are the best!!!!

Chocolate!!!

March 27th, 2008 by Álvaro Arregui

Thanks to our CEO we have recieved a HUGE bottle of Lacasitos. Lacasitos are tiny chocolate candys with a pill shape, like m&m´s As you see in the picture this is a non standard amazing size, compared with the iPod Nano. That´s because it comes from Andorra, where you can find oversized consumption market things. OH!  our friend “Slot” is here, he wants to tell us something. [youtube MFZ1e5ql7cs&hl]

Stand-up meetings

March 19th, 2008 by Jose Manuel Cristobal

standup
Technical staff don’t like meetings. They actually hate them. They see meetings as a total waste of time, most times avoidable. The situation is normally as follows:

  • The manager wants to make a meeting.
  • His secretary schedule the meeting and sends an invitation to all the attendees, under the manager’s name.
  • The technical attendees accept the meeting with a disgusting look in their faces.
  • The meeting takes place. Technical Staff attend thinking in other things they consider more interesting.
  • The meeting ends. The results are about 60% less useful than expected.
