There are too many original apps, but the one we are testing today have a practical side also… at least for hypochondriacs, or anyone wanting to pay 3,99 € for something you can do by yourself.

We are talking of monitoring your pulse through you iPhone Mic. That´s what Heart Monitor do. Our experiences are not very good using the integrated Mic of a 3G iPhone (it depends on how easy your pulse can be found), but the results with the handsfree mic are better, and its funny to measure your pulse in such a way.

It would be perfect if a heart monitoring method could be put together with Nike Plus, but I can´t think on any comfortable way of holding the mic to your neck and carrying and iPhone or iPod Touch while running !!

In my opinion, these original apps are great for pushing the community to innovate and evolve… but the price does not make any sense.

It’s no secret that eHealth is one of the most important investigation fields in modern science. People are getting older in first world countries where the life expectancy has grown up in last decades. That’s the reason why scientists look at new technologies as a new vehicle to provide new and advanced services to the people.

The National Institute of Bio-technology and Bio-Science of South Korea has presented a new device that allows controlling your liver with your mobile Phone. The invention is composed by a small device attached to your mobile phone’s USB connector. The device acts as a receiver, sending the information later on to a hospital, where it is processed by a specialist.

If you are a techie, one of the funniest things you can do in Internet is watch vision videos.
iPLATO is a Patient Care Messaging system that allows sending text appointment reminders and other mobile patient services in UK Primary Care. Patients just have to register their mobile phone number in their surgery in order to receive appointment reminders and other health information in their mobile phones.

Despite a slow introduction, the service is gaining momentum among users and latest measurements have revealed a reduction of missed doctor appointments by 27% in Lewisham Primary Care Trust in London, UK.

This kind of experiences demonstrate how important is Health Care nowadays. Europe population is getting older as life expentancy has increased lately. People are very aware of this and public institutions ,like European Union, are making big efforts to foster services that will serve to face that problems in a near future.

SevenClick has also this problem in mind. We are currently developing a eHealth system for Vodafone focused in IMS networks. The system performs real-time monitoring of risk groups (old people, cronic patients,…) through bluetooth biometric sensors
