LG GD910: A Wrist Spy Phone.

January 16th, 2009 by Marta Tejel

One year ago, in CES 2008 tradeshow, the company LG showed us a prototype of its future Watch Phone. In those days it was like a diamond in a showcase which we can only see but cant touch it.
This year this has changed, and that future prototype, is now a working prototype which has been displayed during CES 2009.

The LG GD910 is a 3G Touch Watch Phone that includes:

  • Touch-screen:  Despite the screen only measures 1.43 inches diagonally it seems easy to  dial numbers on the tiny dial pad or write text on the virtual T9 keypad.
  • Voice commands.
  • Voice calls.
  • Video calls: The watch features 7.2 Mbps 3G HSDPA compatibility, enabling high-speed data transmission and video phone calls using the built-in camera.
  • MP3 music player: The sound comes from the speakers on the watch but it is possible to use a stereo bluetooth headset.
  • Messaging (SMS, EMS, MMS).
  • Test-to-speech capabilities: it reads text messages and other information out loud for even greater convenience.
  • Phonebook and Scheduler.

Besides all this features it is, of course, able to keep accurate time. The phone is set to go on sale in Europe sometime in 2009 in a long range of colors.

Enough talking, see this video.
