    Hi!

Well, a web based application can be made for a lot of devices, it´s just required a custom of the css to be able to browse the web in a proper way; I would like seeing a bluetooth capable iPhone application which is impossible nowadays with the so pretty SDK Apple is selling us like the panacea; dog eat dog, I prefer a java available phone, a python or a C++ available phone; I tried to port some applications to iPhone using the sdk but the support just sucks; bluetooth is hidden and a lot of chances more too; If you want a so pretty interface, you can use GTK+, its a nice solution and there are a lot of devices working with it.

    Kind regards

update : Ive not said its possible to access to some characteristics of the iPhone like SPP profile for bluetooth, the solution? paying a partner Apple relationship ( I meet some companies dealing with applie in this way ); you have just only to pay 15000 or 2000 euros for non public sdk.

Thank you very much for your comments.
In fact, this is much more than a custom CSS, there is a lot of work behind the application than just the UI.

We are looking forward to get a 2.0 firmware iPhone able to load third party software developed with the official SDK. I know there are plenty of hidden features in the SDK, but I don’t think bluetooth is the most important one. Probably, not being able to run background applications is worst. Forget about IM clients, for instance.

Regarding what you mention about GTK+, i agree with you. It’s a great option, as well as eSWT is a great option. We are not closed to any particular technology. We are not just devoted to the iPhone. But if the market demands iPhone…. you know what I mean.

    Hi!

I know there is a background hard work no one can see; I know the market dies for an iPhone (altough I prefer Symbian-based phones); your web application is just a nice solution; in my opinion, I think iPhone will get success if the other companies dont reply fastly to the market and it can just be so painful. Ive been developing mobile applications for 3 years (Im from Zaragoza but for now I dont work in Zaragoza) and I would really like seeing a nice solution to develop “important” iPhone applications with non-restricted apis; I know there are some companies dealing with apple and making their own solutions to some stuff but they are not really opened solutions to everyone. Bluetooth is not the main issue, but it allows to make a lot of stuff; if you mix bluetooth+3g+802.11b/g you get a nice wide spread of solutions to offer to the future costumers, but for now, it´s not in this way, I hope next year we will get a solution to some problems but nowadays ….let´s see; Im trying to develop an opened solution to develop iPhone applications which can access to the kernel of the OS, I think next year I will be able to publish that work.

    Kind regads

a last comment : speaking about UI´s I dont even like no skin used for mobile devices; I dont like working with j2mepolish, Fire, iPhone, gtk+, blackberry, WM, etc…. but If Ive to choose one of them…..maybe I take .net for wm enabled devices and lwuit plus my own libraries for j2me and java enabled devices; maybe the most debugged library is the iPhone UI library but Im not really sure about it; Im following LWUIT and I think maybe next year, it can be a nice option if you want to develop a mobile application and no dying in the try of. Nowadays I hate that issue of the mobile devices, why dont to have an standard (maybe an ISO) to develop graphical issues ? Ive found a lot of problems with resolutions, fonts,etc…..and that really sucks a bit .
