Sony Ericsson has just presented a new device with what they have called “Advanced gaming functionality”. The F305 lets the user control the action with a swing or a swipe of the phone. More after the jump!!!!
First of all, It’s nothing new at all (Who was thinking in Nintendo Wii?), but this concept which has proven to be perfectly suitable for gaming consoles, fits perfectly in a mobile device. Don’t get me wrong. Not all games behave the same way with this kind of controls. Sony Ericsson has also implemented a regular gaming controlling system. But think a little bit in the possibilities.
I hope these controlling capabilities are open to developers (Java MIDP, i mean) in some kind of API. If not, this device will be nothing but a promise. Let’s see.
