Arkados plans to launch a reference hardware and software design that will allow enabled devices to be controlled by iPhone and iPod Touch.
The solution presented by Arkados will make use of the wireless interface to perform the interaction between the audio player and the iPhone. This way, you’ll be able to control the room where you want to listen to your music. The system uses PLC (electric lines) to transport the audio to the audio systems installed in your house.
I’ve always defended mobile phones as the best remote controller possible. Currently you even hold your mobile phone on your pocket while at home, so Why do we have to keep so many remote controllers on the living room’s auxiliary table? Taking into account the unique iPhone interaction capabilities, I strongly believe in the iPhone as the best option to implement such remote controller functionality.
I’m looking forward to see first set of devices implementing this functionality.
