Bioshock & Re-Volt shooters on iPhone

May 30th, 2008 by Álvaro Arregui

Iphone could be the next gen on videogame handsets, maybe too expensive compared with NDS or PSP but it is provided with the best features of both, touch screen and internet. Iphone is the result object of mixing NDS and PSP and it could be a great videogames platform.

On this way, many developers are working on franchises of their popular games for the iPhone, like Sega´s Monkey Ball, EA´s Spore and many more. Now one of the best games ever, Bioshock is being developed for this platform by IG Fun and it was presented at Brew 2008 it was non-interactive, but they said the 3D visuals were being rendered on the handset itself.

Meanwhile to confirm that it could come true soon, another shooter Re-Volt was presented at Brew 2008, check in the video below how it runs on an iPod Touch.

Maybe it is too early to tell that iPhone will become in a handset console, but it is provided with a lot of cool features that make it a great platform to transfer and create brand new videogame franchises.

The Earth on your iPhone, not from Google

May 28th, 2008 by Álvaro Arregui

Incredible but true, the first 3D Earth app for the iPhone doesn´t come from Google, it comes from Earthscape.

Judging the application from the following video, it looks impressive. I love how it spins thanks to the accelerometers.

I am sorry to say there are not info about the availability for the iPhone, this is in private beta for windows yet. Mac and linux versions coming soon.

Thank you Manuel Francisco Herranz for keeping us informed. ;-)
