Rumour: Apple event on february the 26th

February 15th, 2008 by admin

Apple is well-known for its commercial strategy. Its biggest example is what they did prior the release of the iPhone: Create a lot of interest by releasing random rumours, unclear or fictional technicals specifications and release dates…

Obsiously It was a major success. People don’t usually queue in the street days after a product release unless they are really mad about it.

However, in my opinion, they are going too far with this strategy. Actually I’m quite fed up with it. The last rumour / gossip spread is about whether is going to be an event on february the 26th and what is going to be presented in it. Inmediately all the Apple junkies started to write about it, wondering if the iPhone SDK was to be released, or even a 3G iPhone, or even a new MacPro…..

Personally, I don’t really see the point of all this, unless as an effort by Apple to stay on top of everything, everyday.

However, all we can do is wait until we can see whether all this expectations are fulfilled…

    Am I? Maybe.
Maybe the right thing would be not to do it and of course not to buy anything from Apple…

But I don’t want to do campaign agaist Apple, I just don’t like neither their stuff nor their company…

Thank you for your comment anyway. :)

Well, I have another opinion about this issue and I would like to comment it here.

Apple is a great company, maybe one of the best companies all over the world, and of course one of the most prestigious brands.

They develop awesome products that everybody wants, independently if these products can be improved or not. Why? Because Apple is cool! and if you have one of these products, then you think that you will be cool too.

This is the killer marketing goal and only few companies like Apple achieved it.

In this case, it is very commendable because Apple don’t waste money in TV, radio or press marketing campaigns since 1984. They “use” its happy and fanatic users to do that. Great isn’t it?

I agree with Victor that last months some people can be annoyed with Apple effect, because day by day we find more and more news, rumors and great announcements in internet, blogs, press, tv, and so on…

And this opinion is very valid for me and for Apple too. They must be careful with viral effect because some future clients can be getting tired.
    ;-)
