Vivendi Games and Nokia sign Game Distribution agreement

January 17th, 2008 by Jose Manuel Cristobal

I don’t like playing videogames with my mobile. I prefer other options like portable video consoles or standard consoles. Anyway, it’s obvious that plenty of people play with their mobile phones. Carriers know it, and they are getting money out of it, charging up to 3 € per game. Also content download services have a great game catalog in their offerings.

Nokia is strongly betting on its content delivery strategy. Vivendi Games and Nokia signed and agreement to distribute Vivendi games on Nokia N·Gage. As we all know, and with deep shame for Nokia, N·Gage platform has been indefinitely  delayed. But Nokia is not standing still. Nokia have another game delivery platforms, Download! and Nokia Catalogues. Download! is available in 50 different devices of N-Series and E-Series.

Little by little, users have different alternatives to obtain mobile content. Little by little, mobile operators are losing their dominant position.
