One of the questions that always appear whenever I have a meeting with a client is “Will I run out of battery using this application?”. Unfortunately, mainly with on-line based applications, the answer is YES. Mobile phones feature bigger screens, WiFi, Bluetooth, HDSPA, RFID, Multimedia playing capabilities,etc.. But in most cases the battery life is never enough to support these features continuously.
Fortunately, things are changing. According to this information published in Cellular News, Angstrom Power have successfully completed a test with Hydrogen batteries on Motorola devices. The new battery was connected to the mobile phone as a replacement to the actual battery, without any extra room needed to support it. Interesting taking into account that these batteries are just prototypes. Angstrom plans to massively launch this technology by year 2010.
Another feature really interesting for me is that these batteries take only 10 minutes to recharge. I don’t have information about how long takes my mobile phone’s battery to fully recharge, but surely more than 10 minutes. This is not dramatic, but I know plenty of people who travel regularly that must carry one and even two extra batteries when they are on the go.
How often do you have to recharge your mobile phone batteries?
