December 19th, 2007 by Alvaro Arregui

Most of the people have suffered pain in their hands while writing for a long to time or too fast, when taking note at class or during a meeting….

Now, if you have a digital camera or a camera-enabled mobile phone (which is very likely these days), you have a change of getting ridden of those uncomfortable situations by using Qipit.

Qipit is a new service which offers you to take digital pictures of white boards, notes or anything similar and  convert them to clear and legible PDF. Everyone should try it almost once!

In order to use Qipit you need:

  • To be situated in an eligible country (mostly Europe, United States, Japan and India).
  • Have a compatible mobile phone or digital camera.
  • Have an account in the Qipit website (it is free!).
  • Upload the pictures taken. You can even fax them!

Qipit will mail you back the converted PDF files for free.

For further information visit the Qipit website.

Just to clarify, Qipit is a server based solution, so it will work any 1 mega pixel plus cameraphone anywhere in the world. You just need to be able to send a mobile email or MMS to copy@qipitcom (black & white copies) or color@qipit.com (color copies). Of course the better the camera resolution and quality the better the “qipit”. You can also use Qipit with any digital camera by emailing or uploading the pictures to be processed via the Qipit website.

    Thanks for the post!

Thanks for the clarification. It’s always a pleasure to obtain feedback directly from a service creator. I think Qipit is a very wise idea, at least for us. We use whiteboards in each and every meeting we have and being able to capture the information taking a picture is very interesting.
    Thanks again for your comment.

    You’re welcome Conrad!
I’m looking forward to try the service as many of my colleages really enjoy drawing at the office! :)
Maybe, if it is interesting, we would update the post with some feedback.
