The Nokia S60 series is well known for its wide success and performance. It holds many of the top-end handsets currently in the market like, for instance, the N95 8Gb.
This kind of devices usually features an awesome set of hardware but also a very complet set of software. This tutorial, published by NewLc, is focused in one of that programs: The Web Runtime (WRT).
WRT allows the Widgets to be executed as regular S60 applications, for instance, by “clicking” on an icon on the main mene. And, what are the Widgets? Easy. They are small applications developed in standard Web technologies (XHTML, CSS, JavaScript) and executed in the S60 through Web Runtime (WRT).
In the tutorial, you will learn about the widgets and their integration with WRT:
- Description of the Widget Components.
- How to create them.
- How to package and test the Widget.
- Finally, how to test it in a real device.
