Mobile banking. Innovation for everyone.

December 10th, 2007 by Rafael Garca

An article written by SevenClick’s CEO, Daniel Vecino, has been published today in the Spanish financial newspaper CincoDías.

Inside, he talks about innovation related to mobile banking and the impact that new mobile platforms like iPhone and Android will have on mobile banking market.

The model of mobile banking innovation should be a natural model, first choosing useful services. Then, these services would be developed with affordable technologies. High-end handsets and technologies will be used for sowing future solutions that would be tested by early-adopters.

In this landscape, iPhone platform (and Android, too) has an important role to play due to its usability and flat data rates.

We are already working on it!

Following, the entire article…

MOBILITIY: innovation for everyone

“Talking about mobility is talking about innovation. But, if we really want to innovate for everyone, we should follow three key points as guarantee for success“, states Daniel Vecino, CEO of SevenClick, mobile technology company of TB·Solutions group.

  • Let’s mobilize useful services. Technology is just a means to an end. So that, let’s define what services is our clients demanding and if it’s worth to provide them on the move.
  • Let’s use mobile technologies with a high penetration rate. It’s here where real innovation is: to be capable of offering a useful service, usable and accessible by every device and every people, whatever it is their social status or purchasing power. This is total innovation, innovation for everyone.
  • Let’s also work with early-adopters for developing and testing future services on high-end handsets. These advanced users will be our best test bench.

This way, any financial institution has different mobile services within reach today. For example, cash point or office branch maps, secure transactions guaranteed by digital certifies or an interactive real-time stock application.

“I see every user being notified in real-time about its current account movements with no cost for the bank. I see teenagers recharging its pre-paid card, and a couple on an abroad trip updating their credit card balance in real-time. And, all of this working on two, four or even five year old handsets.”

They are current and tangible innovations that will be a milestone with Apple’s iPhone or imminent Google’s Android-based handsets arrival.

“That is the reason why in SevenClick we have revolutionary prototypes on both systems, which are under study by different financial institutions”, announces Vecino.

Let’s follow this model of natural innovation, choosing useful services, developed with affordable technologies and sowing future solutions on high-end handsets. Only this way we will achieve that the trident defined by TB·Solutions, security, double competitivity and mobility, will help make real the future, that is already present, of financial services on the move.

iPhone and Android. Ready for a new revolution

Apple’s iPhone arrival next Spring, along with handsets based on Android, the new mobile operative system by Google, will set a milestone in mobile banking solutions market.

“Something like this, will be only comparable to the great impact caused by mobile broker of Bankinter, with important differences. We know that, and so we are ready”, states Daniel Vecino, CEO of SevenClick, the mobile technology company of TB·Solutions group.

“New handsets by Apple and Google provide now and in the future a usability and interactivity closer to Minority Report film than that provided by cell phones up to date. Their prices in the market will be dramatically affordable and competitive, and so will surely be flat data rates that will come along with these handsets”. No doubt, both platforms will be the definitive mobile platforms with regard to mobile banking services.
