Cesar Alierta, Telefonica’s President visited O2 HeadOffices in Slough (London). O2 is the british mobile company which Telefonica acquired in 2005.
After listening the excellent iPhone features by Matthew Key, highest O2 responsible, Cesar Alierta informed that he wants Telefonica to bring the iPhone to Spain.
“There are nothing decided, but Telefonica has advantage opposite to its rivals due to the iPhone exit in the United Kingdom” said Peter Erskine, CEO of Telefonica O2 Europe.
If it is like in the United Kingdom, the iPhone acquisition will mean an agreement signed with Movistar with 18 months per 400€.
There are yet secrets that reveal such as the Internet connection, but remember, Telefonica expects it in May 2008!
