Microsoft has launched a new Add-in for Outlook 2007 and 2003 that allows users to send SMS messages from the mail client.
My first impression was: “Great!!! free SMS messages”. Not at all. You must use your mobile phone to use it so you’ll have to pay for it. First of all, you have to connect your phone to the PC (bluetooth, infrared and direct cable connection are supported). The plugin allows you to send messages from Outlook, receive SMS messages, search through your messages and treat them as regular mail. Quite convenient, but nothing new at all.
