MyStrands.tv is the brand new service launched by MyStrand following the path started by their music recommendation services. It makes use of YouTube videos to suggest clips. Of course, suggestions are made apart from user musical preferences which are automatically generated. But forget about the explanations and try it. The best thing I can say about MyStrands.tv is that IT WORKS!!!!
I must confess I’m amazed by this service. If you like music and music videos, you have to try it. I remember myself watching MTV-2 for hours and lot of times the music played by MTV-2 has nothing to do with rock, you know. First time I saw MyStrands.tv running I was shocked. The first time that came into my mind was: “How much time would I have saved with this service?”.
Obviously, behind the service is a business model. It’s based on Amazon music products automatically suggested by MyStrands.tv engine. As long as the services is so addictive that you always want more, and these suggestions connect you with the high quality content sold by Amazon. Oh, I will surprise you with new material of your favorite artists, Live Albums, DVD, etc…
The main, and probably only, drawback is the video quality offered by YouTube. In one hand, the service is agile enough to serve the media, but in the other hand, the quality is most times deficient. Anyway, YouTube is the most widely used video service which guarantees a higher number of clips to be suggested. And this is key for this service, because it avoids the feeling of repetition.
MyStrands is a company very active in the mobile market. I’m looking forward to the mobile version of MyStrands.tv.
