It really annoys me how stupid people can be. It looks like Steve Jobs, Tim O’Really or one of the so-called Internet Gurus must return to save the world every six months. I’m trying to be sarcastic, but I can’t. Let’s see some examples starting from Apple’s iPhone.
I write a personal blog. Well, it’s not about my personal life but my interests. Several weeks ago I wrote a post named “iPhone programming”. That post was about how walled was iPhone’s garden in terms of application programming (no Java, no native programming and a pseudo environment based on Safari). The number of visits of my blog raised a 800%, most of them comming from Google searches of “programming+iphone”.
How many of those visitors have actual interest in iPhone programming? How many got there because of other blogs and publications mentioning iPhone programming difficulties? Very few, I’m afraid.
Personally, I think that iPhone has unleashed an interest that will probably never be satisfied. I’ve read so many ridiculous things about iPhone capabilities before the release that I suppose that at least people who said that should be very disappointed. Terrific programming capabilities, Enormous space, no DRM (this is great!!!), and list goes on and on.
Something similar happened two years ago with Nintendo Wii. A guy created a fake video about what was then called Nintendo Revolution. That video exposed such incredible features that everybody was expecting Nintendo’s confirmation in a Fair. Finally, Nintendo denied that information, with the result of lots of dissapointed people and a great viral marketing campaign for Nintendo, this time free of cost!!!!
How many articles have been written about iPhone?
How much time and money has been wasted spent?
How much money has been saved by Apple in advertisement and marketing?

The iPhone comes with a lot of hypes… Yes of course! So, Well done Apple!
The iPhone is nice, is cool, is hate, is the worst phone of the world…? It doesn’t mind. One more time Apple manages to talk about his products all over the world.
