Google Phone…coming soon?

August 30th, 2007 by admin

Over the last year, and specially since Apple’s iPhone was released, many rumours about Google developing a mobile phone have arisen. But, these rumours have been intensified last weeks. Many things have been said from this project, but no word from Google officers, so all this stuff is just speculations.

Anyway, this hype is very similar to iPhone’s hype the previous months of its official announcement and it’s very likely it’s driven by Google itself. No doubt the hype is very beneficial for them. (By the way, many people makes the most out of these hypes.) Even the hype has given a name to the gadget, ‘gPhone’, following the same Apple’s product pattern.

New “NokiPhone”

August 30th, 2007 by Daniel Vecino

[youtube aFKyAMQPbmI nolink]

Yes, we got it!
The new “NokiPhone”, a great Nokia tribute (not copy ;-) to Apple and the iPhone.

Because, as Anssi Vanjoki (Executive Vice President and General Manager of Multimedia at Nokia) said yesterday about the similitarities? with the iPhone:
If there is something good in the world then we copy with pride”.
Olé, olé y olé Rigodon!

The “NokiPhone”, as we like to name it, is a Symbian S60 concept device that Nokia could be developing with several touchscreen functionalities and movement detection.

TyTN II oficially released!

August 29th, 2007 by admin

Yesterday we read a very complete review of the new HTC TyTN II as its release has been officially announced in Europe.

If you want to check performance, hardware and software details you will find in-depth information but, to sum up, we can say that the second TyTN is the high-end of the HTC family. Many improvements have been made to the previous version:

  • Voice quality is much more better now.
  • GPS and navigation software added.
  • The construction is now top-of-the-class: Tilt display design, spring assisted mechanism and rubber back.
  • Software customized with Touch-Flo technology.

All these improvements, along with the high quality of its precessor, make the TyTN II a very good choice for those searching professional Windows Mobile 6 devices. Anyway, one thing will disappoint some perfectionists. The display quality is good but is not among the best. Too bad.

Although this is not the furthest WiFi connection ever made, it sets a record using 5 Ghz at a speed of 5Mbps.

The experiment has been performed by Italian Center for Radio Activities (CISAR) between Sardinia Island to central Italy (about 306 kilometers between them) using an Ubiquiti’s XtremeRange5 miniPCI module and 35dBi parabolic dish antennas to achieve the range.
