eBay is about to launch a bidding service in the UK, France and Belgium, that has been available in Spain since the end of last year. There are plenty of services which allow bidding on eBay auctions from your mobile, but eBay itself did not provide such a possibility. The service will enable users to track their auctions and bids on the move, and to react from mobile if increasing the bid is needed.
The interface of the service is via SMS and will be billed in a per-message basis and hence it does not require a download. It is just a reporting service with the added value of re-bidding, that will be offered as an option when you place a bid online.
