Nokia announces that Nokia N95 has been voted ‘European Media Phone of the Year 2007-2008′ by the EISA (European Imaging and Sound Association). In EISA jury words, “It’s no mere mobile phone and no mere status symbol. Pick up a Nokia N95 and you hold in your hands a state-of-the-art communication tool – the ideal way to remain permanently in touch and on track with the world that surrounds you”.
The outstanding set of features included in this handset makes this assert not to be excessive: GPS, 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and MPEG4 video capture of up to 30 fps, data access of up to 3.5 Mb/s, advanced web browser, Wi-Fi, microSD slot, and audio reproduction of multiple audio formats.
Nokia holds an undisputed leadership in the European market of mobile handsets and NSeries is the line which involves high-end devices. N95 would be a great chance for Nokia in order to gather market share in the USA, where the picture is quite different, with a market leaded by Motorola and disrupted by Apple’s iPhone.

Yeah cool but…I’m curious about how many blows will stand that double-sliding screen…

I’m skeptical about this kind of awards. Do EISA foresees that there won’t be a better mobile phone in two years?
