The cost for national calls is just 1 rupee per minute! This means only 2 cents($)/minute!!! And Ministry of Communications is looking forward to even lower it.
Mobile telephony is revolving communications in India. By now, the mobile subscribers are 142,7 millions, three times the number of fixed telephony users!!! This means that many people in India is a newcomer to telephone service thanks to mobile phones, specially those from rural zones. These citizens see mobile telephony as a key toolbox in their lives, thus allowing the growth of this kind of communities.
We can see a similar situation in Africa too, where mobile communications is bringing banking to rural population.
If we thought mobile technology is driving innovation in Occident … what could we say about developing countries!!!
