Last week I received the new HTC Touch. A new Windows Mobile 6.0 device with an innovative interface called by HTC as TouchFLO.
This interface is a piece of software that allows the user, moving his finger over the screen, to quickly access most common applications and favorite contacts through a 3D cube graphic user interface. In that way, if you make a move with your finger from bottom to top of the screen, the 3D cube magically appears.
In the first face, you can access to email, SMS/MMS, Internet Explorer, Tasks, Calendar and Communication Manager. Moving your finger from left to right, a photo list with your favorites contacts allows you to make easy and quick calls. Finally, doing a new movement from left to right, Music, Pictures and Videos. When you select some option, the 3D cube disappear, accessing to Windows Mobile interface. In this environment TouchFLO only lets you to scroll up and down moving your finger.
That is way I refer TouchFLO as a new an innovative start application system.
It is great, it is easy, it is funny and useful. It is a new way of interaction with a phone, it is true, but not the first and maybe not the best.
Will HTC develop his TouchFLO system near to iPhone can do?
I am sure that very soon we will see something similar.
